The purpose of the foundation
foundatation of Deutsch Japanische Gesellschaft
The foundation of the Deutsch-Japanische Gesellschaft in der Region Aachen was initiated by the former Japanese consul-general, Dr. Takahiro Shinyo. He discussed with the rector (president) of our university that Aachen should have a “Deutsch-Japanische Gesellschaft”. Different to other German-Japanese societies the new society should be focussed on scientific and economical exchange, because our university, the RWTH Aachen, plays such an important role in our city. The RWTH is the most important employer in the city. After our rector has been convinced that the university should become active in founding a German-Japanese society, he asked some colleagues to do the job. We gratefully accepted the task.
